Deer fence access gates are available in a variety sizes. Each access gate comes with all the pieces required to assemble the gate including posts, hardware, tubular gate frame, 4 corners and nuts and bolts. The deer fencing however, is not included, but can easily be cut from any size roll. These garden gates are made from very high quality tube that is galvanized first and then powder coated black. Our gates will provide years of trouble free service.

A quick note about the gate sizes. The size listed on the access gates refers to the actual "door" portion of the gate. For example if the gate is labeled as a 4'w x 7'h the gate itself is 4 feet wide and 7 feet high, the actually opening between the two gate post will be slightly larger. In this case, the latch post (the side where the gate latches) and the hinge post (the post the gate is actually hung on) will end up being 50 or 51" apart. The hinges do require some space. When installing an access gate, we highly recommend that you install the hinge post first. Take care and make sure this post is plum. Hang the gate on the hinge post and let the swing of the gate dictate where the latch post will go. Trying to measure and install both post before hanging the gate will invariable lead to frustration. If you're off by even a small amount the gate will not close properly.

Our gate kits have been designed to give you a maximum amount of flexibility. For example, if a 4 foot wide gate is wider than what is appropriate for your application, just cut the two horizontals by the desired measurement and you now have a custom gate. Similarly, keep an eye on the height of the fence. Remember we recommend flaring the fence and pinning it to the ground so deer, dogs and other critters cannot crawl under. Thus if you are purchasing a 6' roll of fence it will install at 5 1/2 feet. To make the 6' high gate match properly either shorten the two vertical tubes of the gate by a few inches or better yet, to finish at a true 6' you'll need to "stack the fence" with a hem of chew protection barrier.

Our walk through gates are designed to be no dig gates. For most soil conditions you will simply drive the sleeve into the ground and insert your post. Be sure to purchase a driving cap to protect the sleeve from the blows of the sledge hammer. If the soil will not provide adequate support. Dig a hole and use concrete. For all the larger driveway gates we do recommend concrete for both the hinge and the latch post.
